Gulaghasi Mirzayev

Leading master of stage, repetiteur at the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. People's Artist of the Azerbaijan Republic.

In 1994 he was accepted into the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theatre as a ballet dancer. In 1995 he graduated from the Baku Choreography School. Since 1999, he is the leading soloist of the theatre ballet troupe. His repertoire includes The Prince (The Nutcracker), Siegfried (Swan Lake), Albert (Giselle), Romeo (Romeo and Juliet), Polad (Maiden Tower), Toreador (Carmen Suite), Aladdin (A Thousand and One Nights), Majnun (Leyli and Majnun), Nizami (Nizami), etc. In 2013, he was awarded the title of People’s Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan. With theatre's ballet troupe he toured in Russia, the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, France, Morocco, and Canada. From 2005 to 2011 he taught at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art. In 2015 he graduated from the Faculty of Art History of the Modern Humanitarian Academy (Moscow). From 2015 to 2016 he worked as a teacher and artistic director of the Baku Choreography Academy. Author of the book Life in the Footlights (2018). Awarded the commemorative badge of the Republic of Azerbaijan “880th anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi” (2021).
