TATIANA PREDEINA

Ballerina and répétiteur at the Chelyabinsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Glinka. People’s Artist of Russia.

In 1986, having graduated from the Perm State Ballet School (class of Lyudmila Sakharova). Tatiana Predeina worked for ballet companies at the Sverdlovsk (at present Yekaterinburg) Theatre, the Perm Theatre and the “Kremlin Ballet” in Moscow. The turning point in her career came when she began working with the legendary Ekaterina Maximova, under whose tutelage Predeina mastered the roles of Anyuta, Cinderella, Kitri, Giselle, Mari and Aurora, as well as a concert piece, Elegy, to music by Rachmaninoff. She learnt techniques for the choreography of Fragments of a biography to music of Argentine composers from Vladimir Vasiliev.

She has performed with Nikolai Tsiskaridze, Andrey Uvarov, Dmitry Gudanov, Mark Peretokin, Dmitry Zababurin, Aidar Akhmetov, Gennadi Yanin, Vadim Muntagirov and Vladislav Lantratov to name but a few.

In 2002, Predeina organised a festival in honour of Ekaterina Maximova in Chelyabinsk. Since 2007, she has been the curator of the “Tatiana Predeina invites...” festival. In 2007, she graduated with honours from the Faculty of Education, and then in 2011 received a master’s degree from the Moscow State Academy of Choreography. She has a PhD from and is also a Professor at the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture and Arts (at present Institute of Culture).

Laureate of the Award of the Government of the Russian Federation. Recipient of the Medal of St. Olga, Equal-of-the-Apostles, “For Faith and Loyalty”. Winner of the “Soul of Dance” prize, instituted by the Ballet magazine, in the nomination “Star” (2006). In 2013, Tatiana Predeina was awarded the Order of Diaghilev, 1st class, “For her contribution to Russian culture”.
