ELENA FEDORENKO

Ballet and theatre critic. PhD in Art History. Music editor of the newspaper Culture.

From 1982 to 1991, was the research editor of the magazine Soviet Ballet (at present — Ballet). She is now a member of the editorial board of the magazine. From 1991 to 2001, was in charge of the literary section of “The Kremlin Ballet” theatre.

Author of reviews, creative portraits and correspondences in Russian and foreign newspapers and magazines, as well as essays on the history of Russian ballet, published in the American Encyclopaedia “Dance”. Scriptwriter of television shows. Worked at press centres of international ballet competitions in Moscow. Several times was a member of the jury of ballet competitions in Germany and Hungary, a member of the jury of the Ekaterina Maximova Ballet Competition “Arabesque” (Perm). 

She is a winner of “Soul of Dance” prize, instituted by the Ballet magazine, in the nomination “Press Leader”.
